Where we teach in Scarborough

Scarborough driving means wide, fast arterials — McCowan, Markham Road, Ellesmere — the busiest stretch of the 401 running across the top, and Kingston Road cutting through on an angle that produces some of the trickiest intersections in the city. Then quiet crescents in Guildwood and Highland Creek where parking manoeuvres actually happen.

Our instructors teach on all of it, with free pickup and drop-off anywhere in Scarborough — home, school or work. Lessons run 7 days a week, 9 AM–9 PM.

Scarborough's DriveTest centre, decoded

Port Union is Scarborough's home centre — and a favourite across the east end for its calmer streets. Calm doesn't mean easy, though. Here's what test day looks like.

Toronto Port Union DriveTest

Your local centre
Village of Abbey Lane Shopping Centre, 91 Rylander Blvd

Tucked into east Scarborough near Rouge Park, Port Union tests you on quieter residential streets — where precision counts. On test day, expect:

  • Residential crescents around Port Union and Centennial
  • Parallel parking and three-point turns done properly
  • School zones, crosswalks and full, patient stops
  • Faster runs on Kingston Rd and Sheppard Ave E

Quieter streets mean examiners watch technique closely — rolling stops and lazy shoulder checks are the classic fails here. We drill them out early.

Toronto Metro East

Victoria Terrace Plaza, 1448 Lawrence Ave E, Unit 15

The west-Scarborough option — busier arterials on Lawrence East and Victoria Park. A short trip from Golden Mile, Wexford and Kennedy Park.

Oshawa DriveTest

Midtown Mall, 200 John St W, Oshawa

An option east-Scarborough students sometimes book when local dates run long. We'll prep you for whichever centre you choose.

Booked your centre? Tell us which one and we'll shape your final in-car hours around that area — and with BDE certification, your G2 road test opens up after just 8 months with your G1. Start your registration →

Which DriveTest centre serves Scarborough?
Port Union, at 91 Rylander Blvd in east Scarborough, is the local centre. Metro East on Lawrence Ave E works better for the west side, and some students book Oshawa when local dates run long — we prepare you for any of them.
Is Port Union a good centre for nervous drivers?
It's a popular pick — the streets around it are calmer than most of the city. But quieter roads mean examiners watch technique closely: full stops, proper shoulder checks and clean parking. We drill those fundamentals so calm streets work in your favour.
Do you pick up anywhere in Scarborough?
Yes. Every in-car lesson includes free pickup and drop-off anywhere in Scarborough — Malvern, Agincourt and Milliken in the north down to Guildwood, Cliffside and Birch Cliff along the lake. Home, school or work.
Will I learn to drive on the 401?
Full G training covers 400-series driving, including the 401 — one of the busiest highways in North America runs right across Scarborough. G2 students build up through faster arterials like McCowan and Ellesmere at a pace that matches their level.
How much do driving lessons cost in Scarborough?
Our pricing is transparent and itemized — a clean package price plus taxes and certification fee, with nothing added later. See current G1, G2 and full G packages on our Courses & Pricing page.
I'm new to Canada — can you help me get my Ontario licence?
Yes — helping newcomers is a big part of what we do. Depending on your driving history abroad, you may start with a full G or G-Direct path rather than from scratch. Call us and we'll point you to the right starting package.
How soon can I take my G2 road test in Scarborough?
With our MTO-approved BDE course, you can book your G2 road test after 8 months with your G1 instead of the standard 12 — and your certification is recorded directly with DriveTest.
Do you offer female driving instructors in Scarborough?
Yes. Female instructors are available on request — just mention your preference when you register or call 416 996 9395.
